My Favourites

Before I get lost in the world of "pro" products, I thought I would share a couple of old faves that have served me well over the years.

Foundation: DiorSkin Forever Extreme Wear Flawless Makeup

This stuff is nothing short of amazing. It does not come off. Not even a little bit. It makes pores smaller, it doesn't "set" on the face and a little goes a long way. I was once thrown in the pool wearing this, and my foundation stayed strong and didn't budge. Unfortunately my eyeliner did and I ended up looking like I had sat through a particularly sad episode of Grey's, but heck, my skin looked amazing.

Eyeshadow: Stila Kitten

I mean really, do I need to talk about Kitten? Surely the world has cottoned on by now. I have been using this for quite a few years. It is the perfect day eyeshadow. The perfect brow highlighter. The perfect night shadow base. I use it mixed with lipstick, as a decolletage highlighter (I dusted this on my collarbones on my wedding day) and on the cupids bow for fuller lips. You really must do yourself a favour and get this. Stila makes some of the highest quality cosmetics I have ever used. Don't get me started on the smudge pots or this post will never end.

Eyeliner: MAC Liquid Liner in Bootblack

Black as sin, long lasting and easy to use, even for novices. I was never into eyeliner, I always thought it made my eyes look smaller and then someone (the gorgeous Loola) recommended this to me. So it turns out all along I was using the wrong product. The tip on this allows you complete control and you can create so many looks. Cleopatra flicks, tick. Corporate queen, tick. 60s sex kitten, tick. This baby does it all.

Lipstick: MAC Lipstick in A Rose Romance

This was released as part of the Rose Romance collection and is so pretty I had to buy two to keep me going. The whole collection was lovely but this is such a gorgeous, subtle pink, conjuring up images of high tea in the English Countryside. If you missed out on this one, I am genuinely sad for you.

Blush: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Blush in Washed Rose

Most folks are scared of shimmer in their blush, but not me. I embrace it and think with a light touch it adds a whole new level of prettiness to a face. This one is a gorgeous rose colour, which is natural and polished all at the same time. Bobbi Brown is another one of those brands (like Stila) that rarely puts a foot wrong with their products. I am addicted to the snap in-snap out palettes. So handy, so modern and so easy to use. The Shimmer Brick is on my wish list.

So those are my top picks! What do you think? Have you used any? What are yours?
